Upright mound of long arching leaves that have a unique color. The leaves on 'Coal Miner' emerge a dark blue-green. In mid-summer the leaves turn blackish-blue giving the appearance of coal dust on the leaf.
Hosta 'Coal Miner' is a vigorous grower with slug resistant leaves.
Near white flowers appear in summer.
