'Alex Summers' Hosta is a sport of 'Gold Regal' and regal it is with its large upright form. Best color is exibited with morning sun exposure.
The middle of the leaf is green and widely margined in chartreuse ultimately turning creamy yellow. It's vase-shaped habit makes it ideal for underplanting with smaller hostas or other ground covers.
This hosta has a tendency to revert to all gold. Remove the all gold divisions to help keep the variegation.
Medium lavender flowers appear mid July.
